Wildlife Drinking Stations are extremely important because it provides an alternative drinking source for wildlife that in an environment that has been affected by wild fires and drought conditions. Having these drinking stations easily accessible for wildlife makes a huge difference in preventing dehydration and preserving their overall health. It is especially important to understand that animals are living in changing environments that they are not equipped to live in. We can see this happening in California currently. Wildfires are continuing to spread and ruin animals homes daily. By setting up these stations, the animals being affected are able to find a good water source instead of struggling.
Due to an abundance of Wildlife Drinking Stations for the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie NSW, Australia they requested that we identify an alternative beneficiary for the drinking stations. With this, we have found the Mount Kenya Trust located in Kenya. They are a Kenyan non-for profit that protects and conserves the land, water, wildlife and people around Africa's second highest mountain. The stations are primarily made out of 4 inch PVC pipe and each station holds approximately 2.7 gallons of water. The stations will be secured by strapping them to trees. The drinking stations will be filled by conservationists and rangers when needed. The stations are able to accommodate many different species in need of water.
